It Is What We Do That Defines Us!

Not What We Believe We Are!!

Ever since I knew the world and started to understand things, I have been continuously thinking of how we exist and what really matters.

Well, schools had a lot of deal in that regard as to narrate a lot of stories and theories that make up our eager mind. We used to look for answers. We were really hungry for knowledge once upon a time when we don’t much care about what we now stress upon!

All this has changed through time for some. And, some others, they had to! Some just don’t give a damn about what whatever others think of them for their choices in life. That’s what mattered to those bunch. They are what they do. It defines them.

I was a Comics’ fan since my a very young age, and I was always a fan of Superman and Batman. That being said, I’d like to quote this from the movie, “Batman Begins” :

It is not who you are underneath. It is what you do that defines you!

I always admired that and have always kept processing those words, even to date! Whenever I feel I was overrun by thoughts, I just see through it. It makes me realize what I am is all that matters! And it is concerned with what I do: how I act, my habits, my routine (in case of one), attitude, decency, and tranquility. Well, not every person sees it the same way, and that’s what makes us human and unique. We are all equipped with the same stuff, yet, we differ by how we use them: may it be physical (body) or mental (mind).

We might probably retrospect in a brief moment and realize we’re not what we want to be, but what we need to be! We all get there eventually when things don’t turn our way. We got to steer clear and sweep the clutter off to see what we did so far in the retrospection and what we could do better to extend it in a valuable way.

I get to see that life is not going to reach a pinnacle and stop being challenging. Life goes on, there’s no reason we had to stop by and lay down for nothing. We got what we got. We have to move on. No matter how hard life could get, moving on will beat it, always, period.

This is my first article on Medium. I had been reading on Medium for a long time and I just can’t wait anymore to start contributing. I love being a part of this wonderful community.

Thank you!
